Mum inventor Keira, creator of the Mamascarf and Babasac, has just returned from the Kind & Jugend show in Cologne, Germany and gives us some more tantalising details about the next product she’s designing.
So it’s nearly October and I am trying to get back into work mode after the summer break and a long settling in period at pre school! The Kind & Jugend nursery show was great and it’s always lovely to see lots of industry friends. Here are a few of us having a very important meeting (I’m on the right and!)
I took my new sample product to the show and got some feedback from my distributors. I have been looking at different fabrics and seeing what is going to work best. I’d like a bamboo and cotton mix as I want it to be super soft. The samples in the picture are neutral but I can have it dyed any colour.
I also had a meeting with the owners of the factory I use in Turkey to talk about the design and our ideas. The next stage is to do some more testing, which will include lots of mamas and babies trying it out and giving their opinions. Exciting, I love this part! I’ve also got a meeting lined up with the Kiddicare maternity buyer so wish me luck!
I came home to lots of cuddles from the little ones and some great news! Mamascarf has been shortlisted in the Mother & Baby Awards and Babasac was featured in the Independent newspaper as one of the 50 Best Baby Essentials!
I am going on another trip in a few weeks to the ABC show in Las Vegas, as I won a trade mission there as part of my prize in a business competition in the Guardian newspaper last year. I am currently lining up meetings with distributors while I am out there. Feeling nervous and excited, fingers crossed it goes well!
