Tried and Tested: Kiddicare.com Super Car Seat
initial thoughts: The car seat arrived promptly, as ever and in the hourly timeslot that Kiddicare had advised. My initial thoughts was that it was a little ugly, but that the harness looked really study and well made and the seat was light weight and easy to move around. I have always avoided installing our car seats as find this kind of thing really confusing. The first time I tried with this seat was when my partner wasn’t around and the grandparents needed to take my toddler out. On this occasion I didn’t have the instructions and so did struggle a bit, but subsequently I made sure I had the instructions with me and it was so easy; they are really simple to follow.
What we liked: I really love this car seat. It is easy to install and so is perfect if you want to use a seat in a variety of cars. It is the only car seat belt that my houdini-like toddler has not been able to remove his arms from. I love the fact that the arm rests can be lifted, as my son often falls asleep in the car and this makes it loads easier to lift him out and deposit him snoozing onto the sofa.
Eventually the back can be taken off and the seat will be basic booster seat, so we sall not need to buy another car seat for him. This makes the price tag excellent – this car seat provides great value for money!
Things we weren’t so keen on: I would recommend checking the seat belt that holds the seat in place on a regular basis, to make sure it hasn’t come un-done. The seat is sturdy when put in properly, but not as sturdy as one that fixes to a base, so it is definitely worth keeping an eye on it.
My biggest criticism, albeit a shallow one, is that the seat is somewhat ugly looking. I know, shallow, right? However, since getting it in the car and being so impressed with the seat in general I have learned to live with this. Safety is really all that counts!
Overall: A great buy, particularly if you want a seat that can be moved between vehicles. Really excellent value for money.
