As a parent, especially a first time one like myself, you want to make sure you are fully prepared for when your new arrival comes. I spent hours online researching all the latest products and gadgets and by the time my daughter Mads arrived on Christmas Eve 2010, our nursery was fully stocked and waiting for our much longed for little girl.

One small yet important purchase was a thermometer for her room. Having been educated on how important it was to keep her nursery at a suitable temperature in order to reduce the risk of SIDS we eventually found one that ticked all the boxes. We then had to buy a separate one for bath time.
When Kiddicare very kindly asked us to review the new Brother Max Ray Digital Bath and Room Thermometer we were interested to see whether it would be as good as having a separate one for each.

The thermometer has been cleverly designed to double up as a bath time gadget and a room thermometer too. We tried it out first in the bath- my little girl loves bath time and already has some fantastic Brother Max bath toys so as soon as we dropped it in the bath she had fun playing with it. The LCD display on the Ray shows the temperature clearly and for piece of mind if the temperature reaches 39 degrees or above it will blink ‘Hot.’ In order to test this, we did run a hot bath and it worked very quickly to let us know not to put Mads in there.
Next we took it out and tried it in her bedroom. The Ray quickly changed temperature and let us know that it was in fact 19 degrees – the ideal temperature for a baby’s bedroom. For your reference, the recommended bath and room temperatures are displayed on top of the thermometer’s screen.

All in all we have been really pleased with the Brother Max Ray Thermometer. The main thing we like is that the design is adorable and the fact that it is functional and practical makes it even better. Mads loves playing with it and it is fast becoming her favourite bath toy. I have been really impressed with the fact that it can go from bathroom to bedroom easily and accurately.
