Some Exciting News
A few months back my husband and I found out some exciting news, that we are expecting another baby. We were completely over the moon and couldn’t quite believe our luck. Having fallen pregnant in the first time round in the first month of trying, we never expected to replicate that kind of good fortune.
But no, 19 months after finding out the first time around, there we were again carrying round a big and very exciting secret. We’d fallen in the first month yet again and were thrilled that we were going to get the small age gap that we’d always wanted.
Now I’m a person who plays there cards close to their chest. I didn’t let on to a single soul that we were thinking of starting a family, neither did I tell anyone when we started thinking of adding a second to our brood. I think those sorts of decisions need to be made within a relationship without outside influences. And similarly I’m not one to share the news until I’ve got twelve weeks of pregnancy securely under my belt. We told our immediate families and two or three specific friends and that was it.
But since becoming a blogger, I have found a wide and supportive bunch of people, who take the time to pop into my little piece of cyberspace and see what we’re up to. Keeping such a big secret from people I tell my deepest thoughts and feelings was probably trickier than keeping it from real life friends.
So I hatched a little plan to give all my lovely readers a fun and different way of hearing my news. On Sunday, the hubby, my beautiful boy and even our two cats got to work taking pictures to make a little video for our big announcement.
Here is our little ‘big’ announcement to the world.

I guess I must like to make a big fuss about these sorts of things. Last time around we announced it on our first wedding anniversary; telling the whole of Facebook that “this time last year I was about to become someone’s wife and in another six months I’ll be becoming some ones mummy.” but I suppose if you spend more than two months sitting on the information you have plenty of time to think about how you’ll share it.
Have any of you shared the news of your pregnancies in a fun or different way?
